Nilgiris Collector provides welfare fund worth Rs. 54 lakhs

Nilgiris Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Thanneru participated in the Independence Day celebrations held at the Grama Sabha meeting in Palakola Panchayat, where she distributed welfare funds totaling Rs. 54 lakhs to 25 beneficiaries.

During the event, the district collector emphasized the importance of the Grama Sabha meetings, which were conducted in all panchayats following the Chief Minister's directives. These meetings involved discussions on various welfare schemes, project work, expenses, and future development initiatives led by the Rural Development Department. Key welfare schemes discussed included MGNREGA, Swachh Bharat, Jal Jeevan, PMAY, and the Kalaignar Kannavu Illam.

The event saw the participation of several high-ranking officials, including District Superintendent of Police NS Nisha, Additional Collector Koushik, Associate Director of the Horticulture Department Shiphila Mary, Revenue Officer Maharaj, Assistant Director of Health Services Balusamy, Personal Assistant to the Collector (Land) Tamilmani, District Backward and Minorities Welfare Officer Suresh Kannan, Women's Scheme Director Kasinathan, and other government officers.
