On the occasion of World Environment Day, an event was organized by Nirmala college for women in association with Wildlife and nature conservation trust, Alliance clubs international and alliance club of Coimbatore Cheran district 250s at the college premises on Thursday.
The event commenced with a sapling plantation. Rosalinemary, associate professor of the Zoology department, welcomed the gathering.
Siraj Deen, coordinator of the trust distributed eco-friendly cloth bags and eco-friendly bowls to resource persons, principal, staff and students. C Bhathraswamy, retired district forest officer, addressed the gathering about the importance of environment day, plastic pollution, segregation of waste, reduce, reuse and recycling of plastics and to save the environment for future generations.
GS Sundaram, PSLF, LMF First Vice District Governor, RJ Rajash Kumar SLF, LMF Second Vice District Governor, S Prabhakaran SLF, LMF, President, Alliance Club of Coimbatore Cheran district 250s, addressed the gathering.
N Gunavathy, assistant professor of Chemistry department delivered the vote of thanks.
