Nirmala College for Women organises Valedictory programme with a grand ceremony

Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore, held its Valedictory Programme today with a grand ceremony that celebrated academic excellence and community support. The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Sambandan from New Jersey, USA, along with his brothers, R Pooranalingam, Retired IAS Officer, and Sankaranarayanan, Retired General Manager of SBI. Also in attendance was RTN. Karpagam Muthuraman, Joint Managing Director of Lakshmi Ceramics, Coimbatore.
A key highlight of the event was the distribution of scholarships, underscoring the college’s commitment to supporting students in their academic pursuits. A total of 223 students received financial assistance amounting to Rs. 2,32,738, sourced from the interest of 120 endowment and memorial scholarships. These scholarships were instituted by retired and current faculty members, non-teaching staff, and well-wishers to help students overcome financial challenges.
Dr. Sambandan, in his address, praised the college’s dedication to academic and holistic development. He emphasized the importance of community-driven initiatives in shaping the future of students and encouraged them to strive for excellence with gratitude.
The prizes and scholarships were distributed by College Secretary Rev. Sr. Dr. Kulandai Therese and Principal Rev. Sr. Dr. Mary Fabiola, who extended their heartfelt appreciation to the benefactors for their generous contributions. They congratulated the recipients and urged them to excel in both academics and extracurricular activities.
