Nobel World Record at Erode VET IAS College

Over 1660 students of VET IAS College, Thindal, Erode, on Thursday, stood in the college ground for nearly 1 hour on the model of charka for creating a Nobel Book of World Records to popularise handloom sector.
In his speech, College correspondent SD Chandrasekhar said the event was held on the National Handloom Day today to create awareness about handloom and its sustainable development.
The main objectives of this world achievement event are to eradicate poverty, achieve good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, decent work opportunities and economic growth, utility and production as per the UN's 17 goals. Protection to handloom sector through youth force would achieve that objective and ensure its sustainable development, hoped college correspondent SD Chandrasekhar.
College Principal Dr. V. P. Nallasamy, Dean Dr S Lokesh Kumar, welcomed.
Nobel World Records Pvt Ltd chief operating officer Mr. K. K. Vinoth, national adjudicator Janani Sri, state adjudicator Anandha Murugan and assistant director handlooms Saravanan,  delivered special address. 
To commemorate the event, organised by the CDF Technology department, the government handlooms department holds a special handloom expo in the college.
