Tamilnadu Transport Minister S. S Siva Sankar has announced today that e-tickets will be introduced within this year for travel in buses instead of physical tickets. Also the e-tickets can be paid through Gpay the minister has added.
After the DMK Government assumed power, several breakthrough changes is being introduced in the Tamilnadu Transport Corproation. This includes announcements of several beneifts. In particular, free travel for women has been introduced. With an aim to enahnce safety of women and children a closed circuit TV (CCTV) and an emergency alarm are being installed in buses. In the first phase 500 buses have been rolled out with CCTV and emergency alarm buttons.
As part of the several ongoing changes in the transport services, the government has now planned to introduce this year e-ticketing instead of physical tickets. The Transport Minister Siva Sankar has also announced that the e-ticket payment can be made by Gpay.
