Observers hold consultation with candidates

EC Expenditure Observers Sandhip Mishra and T Kiran presided over a consultation meeting with the cadidates and their representatives at the Nilgiris collectorate on Monday in the presence of the district election officer and Collector Aruna.

T Kiran said the Election Commission of India has taken various measures to conduct the upcoming parliamentary general elections in a fair and just manner. Accordingly, the candidates contesting in the Nilgiris Parliamentary Constituency have to bear the election expenses in full compliance with the norms notified by the Election Commission. All election related expenses incurred by you will be tracked. All the expenses should also be duly submitted to the Election Expenditure Accounting Committee. 

 Mr. Sandeep Mishra said that they should submit the expenses incurred by them to the above committee without any concealment, and they should cooperate to conduct the upcoming parliamentary general election in an honest and fair manner. Various teams including video surveillance teams are continuously monitoring 24/7. This surveillance work will be carried out more intensively in future. All the expenses of the candidates contesting the Parliamentary general election should be properly mentioned in the register. We are also monitoring all election related expenses incurred by you.
