Over 200% surge in Indians visiting South Africa.

South Africa has welcomed over 50,000 Indian tourists till November last year and it was 200% higher than the number of Indian travellers visited the country in previous year, according to a statement from South African tourism.  The number was higher than their target which is close to 33,900.

To propel the momentum further, South African Tourism has organized its 19th edition of annual India roadshow in key cities – Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai - between February 13and 16 along with its 35-member trade delegation. The roadshow was aimed at exhibiting innovative and one-of-a-kind offerings for Indian consumers and trade partners.

Pointing out that India has become the 6th largest international source market for driving tourism in South Africa in 2022, the statement said, the tourism board has been aiming to achieve a substantial increase of 72% in Indian travellers over their previous year’s target.
