Vidiyal Social Welfare Foundation has been organising a book festival for the ninth year in succession at KG Mahal, Punjai Puliampatti, near Sathy. Special lectures were held daily in the evening. In his speech, on Saturday the chief guest film actor and poet Jo Mallory spoke on seven norms for parents on how to nurture a child as good citizen.
Children should be taken to the destitute or elderly home once in a year, hospital once in six months, outstation once in three months. A book should be gifted to them once in two months, they be asked to observe Mauna Vratam one day in a month, clean home's toilet once in a week. If the parents teach them to their children, they can achieve greatness in life. Likewise, children should respect their parents.
Children understand
The freedom they give should be used properly. Success is for getting and failure is for learning. Whoever respects his mother and father becomes the best person in the world. Father's feet and mother's face should be seen often. Only then will the children understand their dream, work and sacrifice. In book festivals, parents should buy good books for their children to make them a wise person, he advised.
Foundation secretary Jayakanthan, Trustee of Springtal Public School Gurusamy, Director Kamal, Principal Priya Coimbatore Puliampatti Lions Club Administrator Nandakumar, Pattimandram Speaker Chitra Subbaiyan, Chintamani Vidyalaya Loganathan, Gandhi College Lecturer Karthikeyan, Chairman of Vidyal Foundation Vani Tharumarasu and KG Bhubalan, led the event.
