All pavement sellers around the tourist spot Yercaud lake were removed for the second time on friday.
It may be recalled that in the month of March, 2022 all pavement sellers were removed following sustained protests. However several make-shift shops and hawkers returned to encroach the road around the lake which is a tourist hub in the tiny hill station. Officials launched another drive to remove the encroachers. Earthmovers were brought to remove them.
Many of them moved out of the place on their own however. Officials warned them of being booked if they continued to violate the rules.
