Pensioners stage demo

Members of the Tamil Nadu Government All Departments Pensioners Association staged a demo by blind folding themselves at Erode Taluk office on Tuesday. 

Association Secretary V. Panneerselvam, President S. Sankaran, administrators Jayaraman, Manibharathi, Haridas and others spoke.

 They asked Tamil Nadu government to  fulfill the election promises without delay, restore old pension scheme, grant 10 percent additional pension for  pensioners who have completed 70 years of age, remove the shortcomings of medical insurance scheme, ensure cashless medical treatment under the scheme, and fix Rs.7,859 as basic pension to all the pensioners including Noonmeal,  Anganwadi staff, Village revenue assistants etc.
