'People suffer much under DMK rule'

'People suffer much under DMK rule'

Former Minister and Gobi MLA KA Sengottaiyan appealed to the people to support AIADMK candidate KS Thennarasu in the Erode  East bypoll as all development works were carried out in the district only during the AIADMK rule. But, under DMK rule, people suffer much due to steep hike in property, water taxes power tariff etc while no growth is seen in any field, he added.

In the candidates common platform held at the FATIA  (Federation of All Trade and Industry Associations of Erode District) office on Saturday, he said Rs 1750 cr Athikadavu Avinasi project, brought by former CM EPS,  was an historic one as it was pending for the past 60 years.  During his rule alone Erode ring road, flyover, Erode- Mettupalayam, Bavani-Thoppur, Erode- Kangayam road expansion projects were sanctioned. All infrastructure including Gani Textle Market at Erode were created.   Similarly, many schemes were carried out during MGR and Jayalalithaa rules only. GST was removed on turmeric powder. Farmers and rice mills interest were well protected.

KC Karupanan: ADMK EPS rule alone built flyover, new multistory buildings for collectorate, GH, enforced Rs 450 cr Uratchikottai water project, many road expansion projects.  It protected the interests of many industries. EPS rule planned to build a flyover from PWD TB to Thindal also. But, the present rule stopped it.  P Thangamani: During ADMK rule 10500 mw power was produced as against the need of 9500 mw. The surplus was given to Karnataka. But, in previous DMK rule, power cut was existed for 18  hours affecting all section of people.

Power tariff

During ADMK rule a meagre  hike in power tariff was made and the then CM Jayalalithaa offered subsidy to TNEB to meet its loss.  But, now, steep hike in power tariff was made affecting,  people, especially industries much. During ADMK rule orders were given for producing free cloth to powerlooms in time.  But, DMK gave production orders by December only affecting the   functioning of powerlooms.

The DMK didn't even fulfill the promise of hiking free power for powerlooms from 750 unit to 1000 unit so far. Due to property tax hike and lack of jobs over 35000 voters of the Erode East went to other areas.  So,  people should teach a lesson to the DMK rule for its various omissions and commissions

Otherwise, DMK rule would continue its misrule, add more burden on the people and enforce many anti people policies. ADMK did not add any tax burden on the people during its 10 year rule.  Ex-Ministers KV Ramalingam, Pandiyarajan, Thennarasu, TMC leaders Vidiyal Sekar, Yuvaraja Chandrasekar FATIA president Rajamanikkam and Secretary Ravichandran attended.
