Photo of a girl shielding her brother with hands goes viral

The photo of a seven-year-old girl attempting to protect her brother who was caught in debris during an earthquake that hit Turkey has gone viral on social media.  The country has come to a standstill following the continuous tremors. Representative to the United Nations Mohammed Sabah had recently posted a picture on his Twitter account.

Its caption read, “The seven-year-old girl has attempted to save his brother from falling debris.  She has used her hands as a shield to protect her brother for about 17 hours.  Fortunately, both of them were rescued.” The photograph was widely shared on social media and  the girl was highly appreciated.
