Plea to dispose of all Toxic Solid wastes in SIPCOT premises

Steps must be taken to completely dispose of all solid waste and mixed salts in the Sipcot premises at Perundurai, pleaded association of people affected by pollution in Sipcot industrial growth centre at Perundurai at the monthly meeting convened at the TNPCB office at Perundurai on Monday.K. Udayakumar, District Environmental Engineer, C. Muthuraj, District Assistant Engineer, association functionaries S. Chinnaswamy, 
VM Kandasamy, KV Ponnayan, Pallavi K. Paramasivam, P. Sivakumar, K. Mani, V.  T. Jegatheeswaran, KM Jayabharathi, VM Karuppusamy and others were present. 

The association demands, put forth at the meeting are: a report on the action taken on the complaints regarding pollution prevention measures, take action on those who let waste water in Komarapalayam village, and on RK Steels for emitting excessive amounts of dust, check burial of hundreds of tons of toxic waste in the closed factory- Srinidhi Fabrics in Sipcot- and  action to dispose of it, analysis on the quality of water in 40 locations in and around Sipcot,  disposal of thousands of tons of toxic solid waste, stored at the units in the Sipcot,
steps to clear the polluted water in the Odaikattur Pond, Vaipadi Panchayat, getting a report of the National Geological Research Institute on pollution problem in Sipcot.
