Plea to hike Arunthathiyars quota to 6 percent

Samuga Needhi Makkal Katchi  state founder president Vadivel Raman appealed to the government to hike the quota for arunthathiyars in education and job opportunities from 3 to 6 percent as per the recommendation of the justice janarthanam commission. 

His demands in the party's first state level conference held here on Sunday are: as arunthathiyars were doing cleanliness works, others insulted them. So, all community people be posted for such work on the basis of reservation policy. The Centre should issue a GO to call all sub sects-Sakkiliyar, Mathika, Pagadai, Mothari, Thotti, Seeman, Adi Andhra-as arunthathiyars.

 As the SCs have 3 sub sects-Adi Dravidar, Arunthathiyar. and Devendrakula Velalar, the Adi Dravidar welfare department be renamed as Social Justice or SC welfare department. Job opportunity be given to those who opt intercaste marriage. The grant to build houses under Green House scheme be hiked to Rs 10 lakh. The income ceiling for poor to get government benefit be hiked to Rs 2 lakh as VAOs are not giving cerificates for less than Rs 72000 per year to get the benefit.
