Plea to hike wages of headload workers

Tamil Nadu General Workers' Union held a May Day function in Periyar Nagar, Erode. The following resolutions were passed at the meeting chaired by union president R Manokaran. 
The issue of wage hike for lorry headload workers in Erode has been pending for many years.  The government should immediately intervene and find a solution in this regard.  

Similarly, a wage hike is pending for workers in shops in Kongalamman Temple Street and bakeries in the town.  The government should intervene in this problem.  

The May Day rally on behalf of the union will be held on May 19 from VIC Park, Erode. 
Rs 1.50 lakh relief assistance will be given to the families of the members of the association.   
Many including union General Secretary Baski alias Baskaran, Deputy General Secretary Ilayaraja, and  Treasurer P Venugopal were present.
