Plea to improve civic amenities in Tanjore

Azhagiya Thanjai Project Director Auditor R Ravichandran pleaded to the Minister for School Education and Development of Delta District  Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi to take steps on war footing manner to beautify world renowned Tanjore city. 
In a memorandum, he said the District Collector and Tanjore Corporation  Commissioner were doing their best to help people. However, more improvement works are needed to beautify Tanjore City. He demanded the 4 Raja Veedhis be relaid with removal of all encroachments,  the parking place in the road from Big Temple to Ayyappan temple be shifted and the road be improved and expanded, dormitory for Big Temple devotees  be created at the old juvenile home, auctioning of shops in Raja Veedhis be barred, encroachment near Tanjore Mariamman Temple Chathiram be removed.

He also demanded shifting of temple office from inside the temple to the place of the Palace, near Tanjore Park, houses, shops,  name boards in each Raja Veedhi be decorated with separate colour paints and  paintings to highlight our heritage to lure tourists, erection of decorative lights in all roads, computerisation and digitalisation of administration with high speed internet.

Shifting of electric cables and transformers in the Rajaveedhis which hit traffic, overhead cables as underground cables, desilting of sewage lines with spreading of mosquito repellents, erection of temporary shed for devotees stay near Big Temple, new traffic islands for easy flow of traffic, conversion of open space of Ramanathan 
Chettiyar Mandapam as vehicle parking place,  creative of multi vehicle parking rack, protection of all historical places above 150 years, removal of encroachments near 
Mariamman Temple Chathiram, and basic amenities for devotees in the historic Punnainallur Mariamman temple area are other demands of him.
