Poll observers hold meeting to review expenditure details of candidates

Poll observers Geethu Padoliyay, Ume Fardina Adil, Ashish Kumar, Saurabh Kumar Roy, and Sandeep Mishra conducted a meeting in Coimbatore with various government agencies including bankers, Income Tax department, Enforcement Directorate officers, and Excise department officials to review expenditure details of candidates ahead of the elections on Friday.

The Election Commission of India is taking measures to prevent illegal transactions that could influence voting during the election. The meeting emphasised closely monitoring candidates' bank accounts and their associates'. Officials were urged to watch for parties attempting to sway voters with money. Coimbatore Electoral Officer and District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, Pollachi Electoral Officer and District Revenue Officer Sharmila, along with other government officers, attended the meeting.
