Price of cooking gas cylinder, yet another achievement

Price of cooking gas cylinder, yet another achievement

The price of cooking gas in India has risen to more than Rs.1000 unprecedentedly.
Last May the Union Government hiked only the price of commercial gas cylinder. In one day the price of commercial gas cylinder was hiked by Rs. 102 taking the price to Rs.2,355. In January 2021, the price of domestic cylinder was Rs. 710. This was gradually raised and on October 6, 2021 the price was Rs. 915. Next in March 2022 there was a hike of Rs.50.

After March there was no increase in price for two months. Currently the price of domestic gas cylinder price has gone up to Rs.1015. In the last year the price of domestic cylinder went up by Rs.315 and in the year 2022 in the first five months the Union government has increased the price by Rs.100.

The Union Government has  justified the increase by saying that the price of cooking gas will fluctuate according to the changes in the international market. Will the government release the list of number of times the price was increased and decreased? The price of petrol and diesel which increased remains at Rs.100 per liter and has not decreased.

Similarly the price of domestic cooking gas cylinder will not reduce below Rs 1000. We have to buy cooking gas cylinder inspite of the price increases. Is it possible to go back to cooking with fire-wood?
