Prime Minister Modi's surprise visit to the Chola nation

Prime Minister Modi's surprise visit to the Chola nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the birthday celebration of King Rajendra Chola held in Gangaikonda Cholapuram, Tamil Nadu yesterday and delivered a speech.
Currently, the Dravidian parties DMK and its allies in Tamil Nadu are severely criticizing the Union government. They are campaigning against the BJP government by emphasizing the imposition of Hindi, the decline in education funds for Tamil Nadu, the allocation of very little funds for the Tamil language, and the non-distribution of disaster relief funds.
In this context, Prime Minister Modi's visit to Gangaikonda Cholapuram is seen as an attempt to make people realize that the BJP is not a party against Tamils by participating in events that praise the glorious history of Tamils like the Cholas.
Just as the BJP had earlier made the Maratha king Shivaji a national hero, now it is being seen as an attempt to make the Chola kings a symbol of Indian unity. The starting point is Prime Minister Modi's announcement that grand statues will be erected for Rajaraja Chola and Rajendra Chola. It is clear to everyone that the BJP wants to quell the feelings of the people of Tamil Nadu against the union government.
The BJP has set a target of the 2026 assembly and a leadership position in Tamil Nadu in the future. For that, its plan is to create a non-Dravidian Tamil Nadu identity. For that, Modi's speech and movements were in a style that exalted the Chola tradition, Pallava architecture, Sangam literature, etc.
Political commentators believe that this event is a reflection of the BJP's decision to prove the pride of the Tamils in the national identity, instead of the traditional system of governance of the Dravidian movement and its historical heroes.
The Chola rule in Tamil Nadu is like a government held under an umbrella.  It refers to a one-party rule that has taken place not only in Tamil Nadu but also across the ocean. It can be said that Prime Minister Modi has now entered the Tamil Nadu elections targeting the Chola nation. It can also be said that this is the first chapter of his plan to get the votes of the people of Tamil Nadu, especially the Chola nation, for the BJP in the upcoming elections.
So, the Gangaikonda Cholapuram program is not just a celebration of cultural traditions, but the beginning of a delicate political chess game has taken place there. There are many important political calculations behind this.
On one side of the scale, the achievements of the current Tamil Nadu government, and the first-place commendations given by the Union government and the newspapers for it, are confidently stacked and filled. On the other side, the policies, past activities and promises of the BJP & AIADMK alliance, TVK, and NTK parties are being weighed separately.
All parties are calculating and moving towards the same goal of capturing power. But what will be the calculation made by the people of Tamil Nadu?
Tamil Nadu voters have a calculation in mind for the 2026 elections. They have started adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing numbers to find a solution to that difficult calculation.
The correct answer to that calculation will be found only through the votes of several crores of voters who will press their single finger &  we will wait!
