Private tourist bus skids off ghat road, passengers escape unhurt at Salem

A private tourist bus carrying around 40 passengers from Chennai skidded off the road and came to a halt on the roadside embankment near Yercaud on Monday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 PM as the bus was heading from Yercaud towards Salem City via the 14th hair-pin bend .
The driver of the bus, Mr. Murugavel, 51, from Pondicherry, was noted for his quick thinking and skill, which prevented the bus from tumbling down the ghat road and ensured the safety of the passengers.
Fortunately, all 40 passengers on board were reported to be in good condition following the accident. No injuries had been reported, and there was no impact on vehicular traffic in the area.
The Yercaud police began an investigating into the mishap.
