Promoting Health in Tamil Nadu through Walking Roads!

Promoting Health in Tamil Nadu through Walking Roads!

The uncommon initiative of Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, who is regarded as the head of the 'Dravidian Model' government, is slated to innaugurate in the first week of November. Its goal is to establish 'Well-being Walking Roads' in all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu.
When Tamil Nadu People's Welfare Minister M. Subramanian visited Japan, he saw such walking roads. Enthused and attracted he studied the details, and as soon as he informed our Chief Minister, he immediately took steps to implement it in Tamil Nadu.
Only 8 kilometers long in Japan, this road is great for pedestrians only. The country has a very large elderly population; thereason is the walking and exercises of the elderly.
All the 38 districts of Tamil Nadu are going to have a walking road for health and well-being. Although everyone is allowed to walk on this road, there has been a request that it would be better if a separate track for elderly people is constructed on that road.
By doing this, they can enjoy the benefit of safe walking for themselves – even when seniors cannot participate at the same pace as others. Tamilnadu government should make this facility wherever possible.
Exercise is not just for health. By talking with the friends we get during the daily walks, we also become mentally free and light.
Kudos to the Chief Minister and the Health Minister for implementing this scheme in Tamil Nadu as an example for whole of India.
Let's all walk everyday!
