Provide Good, Impartial governance without religious bias: TN BJP Chief to Stalin

Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai on Monday asked Chief Minister M K Stalin to provide good and impartial governance, and not to target the national party over communal incidents. Instead of taking action against those who indulge in violence and hurling of petrol bombs on the premises of BJP and Hindu Munnani leaders, and raising anti-national slogans, Stalin was blaming the BJP by describing it as a "communal party", Annamalai said at a protest meeting organised here to condemn the controversial remarks made by DMK Nilgiris MP A Raja over Hindus.

BJP district president Uthamaramasamy was arrested for speaking against Raja and was booked under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, while the Lok Sabha member who made derogatory anti-Hindu remarks was let off scot-free without taking any action, he said. The DMK government had also not taken any action against party leader R S Bharathi, ministers K Ponmudi, K K S S R Ramachandran and Raja Kannappan for their indecent remarks and behaviour against certain sections of people, Annamalai said.

Annamalai also targeted the police by stating that they have become puppets in the hands of the government. "The BJP would not be responsible for their (police) transfers after two years and them not getting pension and retirement benefits," he said. "Though 90 per cent of police personnel were good, some were puppets", he said while claiming that the state assembly elections could be held along with the 2024 general elections.
BJP Mahila Morcha president and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, former BJP MP C P Radhakrishnan and Hindu Munnani president Kadeshwara Subramaniam also addressed the gathering.
