PSGR Krishnammal wins championship in university meet

The students of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women brought glory to the institution by winning 19 medals at the 41st Bharathiar University Inter-collegiate athletic meet held at the Nehru Stadium here on December 19 and 20. The athletes of the college participated in 21 events and won eight gold, six silver and five bronze medals, earning a total of 149 points. This outstanding performance won for the college the overall championship for 2023, with a significant lead of nearly 100 points over other colleges, who scored below 50 points. Mr. Nizamuddin, Asian Medalist and Indian Railways coach, who was the chief guest at the closing ceremony, distributed the medals and certificates to the winners. Angel Sylvia of II BA (History) set a new meet record in the 200-metre race.
