Puducherry CM Rangasamy avoids Union Minister’s function

Following the tension between the BJP and the All India NR Congress (AINRC) in Puducherry, the Chief Minister N Rangasamy’s decision not to attend in the function in which the union labour minister Bhupendra Yadav participated, has intensified the political controversy here.

Union environment and forest department in association with the Puducherry’s science, technology and environment department has conducted a cleaning activity and an awareness programme.

In the programme that took place on beach road close to secretariat, the union minister Yadav, Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundarrajan, speaker Selvam and MP Selvaganapathy participated.

They along with more than 500 students and volunteers cleaned the rock beach and created awareness among the public.

Even though the chief minister Rangasamy, tourist minister Lakshminarayanan and agriculture minister Jayakumar were supposed to participate in the programme, none of the NR Congress ministers including the chief minister turned up for the programme. It in turn had intensified the already existing tension between the BJP and the NR Congress in Puducherry.
