On the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi, the Puliakulam Munthi Vinayagar temple in Coimbatore attracted a large number of devotees. Known for housing Asia’s second tallest Ganesha idol, the temple’s 19-foot-tall and 10-foot-wide statue of Lord Ganesha was adorned with elaborate decorations for the festival.
The idol was decorated with 50 kilograms of sandalwood and two tons of flowers, with 16 varieties of fragrant materials used for the Abhishekam ritual. Special arrangements were made for devotees to stand in queues and offer their prayers. Additionally, Annadhanam was distributed to the visiting devotees.
To manage the large crowds, traffic in the area was diverted, and security measures were put in place by local police to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration.
