Rains cause traffic jam in Coimbatore

Heavy rains in Coimbatore, as predicted by the Meteorological Department, led to traffic congestion in various parts of the city today. While districts like Coimbatore, Nilgiris, and Tirupur were on alert for heavy rainfall, moderate showers hit areas such as Ukkadam, Railway Station, Gandhipuram, and Town Hall.
Though the day began with sunny weather, the rains, which lasted about an hour, brought relief by cooling the atmosphere. However, the downpour caused waterlogging on several roads, especially in Ukkadam, leading to inconvenience for motorists and disrupting traffic flow. Despite the rain, the public welcomed the change in weather after the recent heat.
