Republic Day Celebrations at Kamarajar Port

The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at Kamarajar Port on 26th January 2024. Smt. Irene Cynthia, IAS, Managing Director, KPL unfurled the National flag at Port Administrative Premises.

The Managing Director while addressing the gathering underscored the remarkable milestones achieved, proudly declaring that KPL has now entered its twenty-fifth anniversary year, marking a momentous silver jubilee. Encouraging everyone present, she appealed for their utmost dedication and effort to propel the port to even greater heights.

MD highlighted that KPL handled its highest ever cargo throughput of 33.40 million tonnes during the financial year 2023-24 (December 2023) with an increase of about 2.58% over previous year. The Port is expected to handle 47 MMT cargo in 2023-24. He urged all stake holders to contribute their best for the growth of KPL. Senior Officials and Employees of KPL, Port users, public from nearby villages participated in large numbers.
