Residents stage stir against erection of Transformer

The residents of EMM Street in 51th ward  in Perumalkadu, Erode,  staged a stir against erection of a transformer by TNEB in the area where 200 houses were located. They feared that children, locals and  vehiculur traffic would be hit if the transformer was erected in the narrow street.

 They suggested to erect the transformer on the main road in the area. During the stir, a woman brought a kerosene can to immolate self.  Police convinced her and locals to withdraw the stir.  Then,  the TNEB staff went away without continuing the work.
