Review meeting on project implementation held in Tiruvannamalai

A comprehensive review meeting on the implementation of various projects across departments was held at the Tiruvannamalai district collector's office. The meeting was led by District Monitoring Officer and Government Secretary of the School Education Department, S. Madhumathi, and attended by District Collector D Bhaskara Pandian.

The meeting discussed several key projects. The "Ungalai Thedi Ungal Ooril" program focused on surveying Adi Dravidar welfare hostels and backward welfare hostels. The Chief Minister's Program aimed to provide free housing leases and welfare assistance to beneficiaries. Additionally, initiatives by the Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department, the Chief Minister's Village Roads Development Scheme (MGSMT) by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, and the Water Supply, Municipal Administration, and Urban Development Scheme by the Department of Water Supply were reviewed.

Other topics of discussion included the distribution of Patta by the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, monsoon preparedness, and the provision of bicycles to beneficiaries by the welfare department. The educational status of students in schools and hostels and the infrastructure facilities of hostels were evaluated. The Social Welfare Department's integrated child development and Anganwadi Centers were also monitored.

Officials were advised to expedite the completion of new projects and make completed works available for public use. Following the meeting, the District Monitoring Officer and District Collector distributed several welfare items. Free sewing machines worth Rs. 7,320 each were given to two beneficiaries on behalf of the Minority Welfare Department. A washing box and bank account books were provided to 12 students under the Tamil Puthalvan scheme on behalf of the Social Welfare and Women's Rights Department. Additionally, a wheelchair was given to one beneficiary on behalf of the Disabled Welfare Department.

The District Monitoring Officer also conducted inspections of several initiatives and ongoing projects. This included the distribution of milk to mothers with infants at the People's Grievance Redressal Day meeting, recording of petitions submitted by the public, and garbage disposal. The construction of a new bus station at an estimated cost of Rs. 30.15 crore, a completed bridge connecting NP Devanendal and Sammanthanur across Durinchalar at a cost of Rs. 418 lakh, a newly constructed school building and panchayat office building in Kilpennathur Panchayat Union, Kalingaleri Panchayat, and school classrooms under construction in Boys High School were also inspected.
