The Rotary Club of Coimbatore Smart City hosted an impressive installation ceremony for its new team members. The event marked the transition from the Rotary Year 2023-24, led by Immediate Past President Rtn. PHF Dr. Rohini Sharma and Immediate Past Secretary Rtn. PHF Murtuza Raja, to the new team for 2024-25.
The ceremony's chief guest, RI Director Rtn. Anirudha Roy Chowdhury, and guest of honour, Major Donor PDG Rtn. Dr. Kuriachan, graced the occasion. The outgoing team was celebrated for their immense community service projects, earning a standing ovation for Dr. Rohini Sharma.
Immediate Past Secretary Murtuza Raja presented a well-compiled report, and the third edition of the Smart Chronicle was released. The new team was then installed, led by President Rtn. PHF Nitin Shah and Secretary Rtn. PHF Jayashree Prasad. Nitin Shah announced ambitious projects, including the $80,000 Global Grant Project Smart Hope Beyond Care: Oral Cancer in collaboration with Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, and a Rs. 15,00,000 rehabilitation centre for stray animals with SPCA.
Smart Scholarship projects were awarded to three deserving students, and the club inducted eight new members, reaching 100 members. The event concluded with a motivating address by RI Director Chowdhury, promising support for the club’s initiatives. The Master of Ceremony team was recognised for their efforts, and Annette Rudraksha was inducted as the first ROTA KID of the club. The installation ceremony was a resounding success for Rotary Smart City.
