Rotary Club to provide uniforms to 5,000 students

The Rotary Club of Erode Central will provide two uniforms and sweets to about 5,000 government school students during Diwali, said Dr. Sahadeva, charter president of the club. The family get together and the silver jubilee of the Erode Lotus Hospital were held in Erode on Sunday. He said that the government provides uniforms to children who are studying up to eighth standard and eat nutritious food. Therefore, the uniform scheme has been introduced under the name of Arivin Aadai for those studying from 9 to 12 who have no parent or single parent. The cost of this project is about Rs. 75 lakh per year. The scheme will be implemented through donations from association members and the public. For this, a survey has been conducted through the School Education Department and even the uniform sizes of the children have been collected, he said.  Sangam administrators S.Thirunavukkarasu,
