Rtn. PHF Dr. Rohini Sharma, President of the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Smart City, was honoured with the title of "Maruthuva Rathinam" by the Rotary Club of Downtown for her service to society on July 1. The title was presented by Rtn. Shyam, President of Rotary Downtown.
Roti Bank Rotary Smart City served 100 meals at a cost of Rs. 7000 on the first day at the Helping Heart Old Age Foundation at Kempatty Ukkadam and KNG Pudur centres. Additionally, 100 pieces of Gulab Jamun were sponsored by fellow Rotarians.
The event was attended by President-elect Rtn. PHF Nitin Shah, Secretary-elect Rtn. PHF Jayashree Kota, Secretary Rtn. PHF Murtuza Raja, Rtn. Ram Prasad Kota, and Rtn. PHF Prema Goenka. The club expressed gratitude to all the members who participated in the old age home project.
The Rotary Club of Coimbatore Smart City also conducted a free screening for cataract, refraction, and blood sugar testing at Shree Coimbatore Gujarati Samaj via the Blossom Project. The camp was conducted by Lotus Eye Care Hospital & Institute, screening 60 people under the free eye camp.
The event was held in the presence of GGR Rtn. PHF Dr. Rohini Sharma and under the leadership of President Rtn. PHF Nitin Shah, Secretary Rtn. PHF Jayashree Prasad, and outgoing Secretary Rtn. PHF Murtuza Raja. Jayesh Doshi, Medical Wing Coordinator of Shree Coimbatore Gujarati Samaj, also played a key role. The installation of the new president, Rtn. PHF Nitin Shah, is scheduled for July 7.
