Route diversion in place due to Thandu Mariamman temple festival at Coimbatore

Due to the Thandu Mariamman Temple festival on Coimbatore-Avinashi Road Uppilipalayam, route diversions have been implemented today.

The temple festival began on April 16 with the flag hoisting ceremony.

Every night, the Amman Thiruveedi Ula procession takes place, with devotees accompanying the deity in various vehicles. The Thirukalyana Utsavam, a ceremonial wedding celebration for the goddess, also occurred, during which devotees presented various offerings as part of the procession. Subsequently, the deity was carried in a flower palanquin for the Thiruveedi Ula.

This morning, a significant number of devotees participated in a procession from the Koniamman Temple, passing through Town Hall, Oppanakara Road, Lingapasetty Road, Milk Market, Brook Bond Road, Nanjappa Road, and concluding at the Thandu Mariamman Temple. Throughout the procession, devotees engaged in various rituals, including carrying Agni Chatti, Alagu Kuthudhal, carrying milk pots, and Sakthi Karagam.
