Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital successfully performed its first heart transplantation on August 25, 2025. The team, headed by Dr. K. Madeswaran, Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. G. Pradeep, Consultant – Heart and Lung Transplantation and Mechanical Circulation, and Dr. S. Kirubanand, Consultant – Cardiac Anaesthesiologist, carried out the complex procedure within a short time frame.
Dr. K. Madeswaran, Chairman and Managing Director, said, “This is an important milestone in Royal Care’s journey. The hospital is constantly upgrading its technology in line with global standards, and many of these technologies have been introduced for the first time in India and this region. Our Multi-Organ Transplantation facility has now achieved its first successful heart transplantation.”
He further stated that Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital is accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Surgical Review Corporation (USA), and National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) for its quality services.
The harvested heart was transported from KG Hospital to Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital, Neelambur — a distance of 20 kilometers — via a Green Corridor with the support of the Police Department, enabling safe transfer within just 12 minutes.
