The government has allotted Rs 3 crore for the repair works in flats constructed by TNSCB in Erode city said Housing Minister S Muthusamy.He laid the foundation stone for various development projects in the Karungal Palayam area of Erode today.Their total value is Rs 3.90 crore.
He later told reporters that steps are being taken to address the drinking water and sewerage problems in Erode Corporation. The TNSCB apartments comprising 1400 flats opened in the AIADMK regime two years ago. But the pipes and drinking troughs in the building have been broken as not a single guard has been deployed there .
So the houses are currently unallocated .So the government has allocated Rs 3 crore to maintain the houses and repair the drinking water pipes and install new tanks .The work will be done soon. Houses will be allocated to old allottees of old houses which were removed. Some people have asked allotment in the same floor that they had already resided .
The problem has been discussed and settled. .After the completion of the repair work, the houses will be allotted to the occupants in the areas. Rs 1.50 crore has been allocated for education in the budget of the current financial year of the Erode Corporation.
Accordingly, steps are being taken to repair the Corporation schools and build new classrooms where ever required. Asked about the resolution of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Trichy and Tanjore district DMK units seeking to appoint MLA Udayanithi Stalin as minister, he said Udayanithi Stalin advised not to pass any resolution in this regard."We are following his orders," he said.
