Rs 30 Lakh allotted for repair works in LBP branch canal

Repair work in Thanganagaram branch canal of LBP main canal  near Sathyamangalam, have started at a cost of Rs 30 lakh. 2300 cusecs of water was released from the Bhawanisagar dam for 1.07 lakh acres in Erode, Karur and Tirupur districts on August 5.

2300 Ryots raised  paddy and other crops. 2 days back breaches occurred in Thanganagaram branch canal  and a big hole occurred in the -middle of the bridge.  Subsequently, the discharge of water was stopped in the main and branch canals. Yesterday, water resources department officials started repair work in the damaged branch canal bridge at a cost of Rs.30 lakh.The renovation work will be completed in 4 days, officials said.
