Ryots seek due Compensation for HT power Project

TN small and marginal farmers association in Erode district have demanded additional compensation for farmers affected by the Powergrid corporation which laid HT Power cable along farm lands. 

At the public grievance meeting held at the district collector office on Monday under the chairmanship of District Revenue Officer S. Santoshini Chandra,  the state president of the Association KR Suthanthirarasu said ''No compensation has been given for the arable lands where the corporation laid HT power tower lines in Erode district.  

The government fixed Rs 36,450 per coconut tree, besides compensation for other crops,wells and buildings, which could hit due to HT Power cables. So, the appropriate compensation amount declared by the government should be provided. 

Compensation of several crores of rupees for several hundred people in Erode district was not yet given. He pleaded to the government to grant the compensation without delay.
