Salem Collector S. Karmegam, in commemoration of the MuthamizharignarKalaingar Centenary Year, initiated the "Yercaud Our Pride" awareness walk today morning, signalling the launch of the program.
This endeavour aims to foster awareness and community participation in transforming Yercaud into a non-toxic, green, and pristine hill station.
The district administration had made comprehensive arrangements, including providing participation certificates, T-shirts, and breakfast, for all participants in the "Yercaud Our Pride" awareness walk.
The call to participate was extended to government officials, environmental volunteers, students, people's representatives, and walking enthusiasts, all encouraged to contribute to the creation of a non-toxic, green, and clean Yercaud.
Nestled in the Eastern Ghats of Tamil Nadu, Yercaud stands as an idyllic hill station and a source of pride for Salem district.
The government has undertaken various measures to promote the development of the Yercaud hill region.
The Collector emphasized the importance of celebrating the MuthamizarignarKalaingar centenary year by making Yercaud plastic-free, green, and pristine.
