The Salem Division of Southern Railway celebrated its 69th Railway Week on March 26 with a grand event at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office Complex. The celebration was attended by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Additional DRM P Sivalingam, and CPM/Gati Shakti Ganga Raju, along with branch officers, railway officials, and staff.
Addressing the gathering, DRM Sinha highlighted the division’s achievements, stating that train punctuality had improved significantly and earnings had increased by 4% compared to the previous year. He noted the progress of railway station development under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and emphasized the role of modern signaling systems and track maintenance in enhancing safety. While acknowledging these achievements, he urged employees to remain focused on overcoming future challenges. As part of the event, 26 employees from various departments were honored for their exemplary performance and dedication.
The awards were presented by DRM Sinha in the presence of senior officials, with staff applauding the recipients.
The celebration also featured a vibrant cultural program with dance performances and musical renditions by railway employees and their families.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Assistant Personnel Officer AH Devikumari.
