Salem gears up for Dy.CM's programme

Ahead of the grand event of sports equipment distribution under  Kalaignar Sports Scheme  scheduled for October 20, 2024, Tamil Nadu’s Tourism Minister, R. Rajendran, today (October 17, 2024), conducted an inspection of the preparations at the Nehru Auditorium in Salem, where the event will take place. The event, to be presided over by Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.
The event will see the participation of officials from multiple government departments, and welfare assistance will be provided to beneficiaries as part of the occasion. Senior officials, including the Salem District Collector, the Mayor of Salem, Members of Parliament and the Legislative Assembly, and local body representatives, are expected to attend the program.
Minister Rajendran’s inspection focused on the arrangements at the Nehru Auditorium, located near the Old Bus Stand in Salem. He reviewed the tasks to be carried out with the relevant officials to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Accompanying the Minister during the inspection were District Collector Dr. R. Brinda Devi, Mayor A. Ramachandran, Corporation Commissioner Ranjith Singh, Salem Revenue Divisional Officer A. Abhinaya, and Ammapet Assistant Commissioner Vediappan, along with other local officials and representatives of local bodies.
