Samhita academy organizes annual sports meet

The Samhita academy organized its annual sports meet 2023 at its premises in Malumichampatti in the district on October 14.

Principal Pushpaja Kannadasan hoisted the national flag and kick-started the event, while PET teachers Haritha and Kanthinathan encouraged the players.

Addressing the gathering, the principal said, “Sports play an important role in offering important life values like team building, coordination and co-operation to the students. CBSE emphasizes upon a sports integrated curriculum as a healthy mind lies in a healthy body and gives an equal importance to academics and sports.”

While a class X student Harish welcomed the gathering, students from houses – Vayu, Agni, Prithvi and Jal – cheered their house members. They did March past and it was followed by oath taking, passing of the Olympic torch, mass drill, yoga, aerobic dance and karate performances. Several sports competitions including hoops relay and kho-kho were organized. The overall championship was bagged by Vayu team, while Prithvi team won the medal for the best March past. Vote of thanks was delivered by class X student Lakshanya.
