Scholarships for Tamil Scholars distributed

The Department of Tamil Development has announced scholarships for Tamil scholars, and eight undergraduate students.The scholarships are worth Rs. 3,500 each, and Tamil scholars will receive an additional Rs. 500. The district collector, Mr Kranthikumar, issued the orders for obtaining medical treatment and scholarships to the selected scholars on March 17, 2023, at the District Collectorate in Coimbatore.
The expert committee has selected 100 Tamil scholars for the year 2021-2022, and eight of them are in the Coimbatore district. 

The scholarship is aimed at providing financial assistance to senior Tamil scholars, and the selected scholars are Mr A. Gnanamani, Mr M. P. Iramalingam, Mr Su. Selvarasu, Mr K. Samiyappan, Mr T. Narasimhan, Mr Sa. Irudayasamy, Mr Go. Krishnaral, and Mr A. Kootharasan.

Appropriate evidence

The scholarship amount of Rs. 3,500 will be provided every month from April 1, 2022, and an additional Rs. 500 will be provided for medical purposes, bringing the total to Rs. 4,000. The heirs of the Tamil scholars will receive a stipend of Rs. 2,500 after their death, based on appropriate evidence.

 They will also receive medical support at the rate of Rs. 500 to Rs. 3,000 every month. The scholarship recipients will also receive free bus rides to and from anywhere within Tamil. The Tamil Development Department Deputy Director Bhubaneswari was present.
