Supriya Sahu, Additional Principal Secretary, Forest Department inspected a site near Bavanisagar, to settle 457 families of Tengumarahada forest area of Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, near Moyar river, Bavanisagar. The HC ordered the forest department to resettle them by October 10 and submit a report to the court. Subsequently, the forest department and the district administration were actively carrying out resettlement related works. Meanwhile, Supriya Sahu and Forest Department officials visited Tengumarahada village on Thursday and discussed with the people who expressed their desire for resettlement. At that time, they asked the forest department officials to allocate a place for them to build a house. Supriya Sahu and Erode Collector Rajagopal Sunkara made a request to set aside a portion of 69 acres of land belonging to the Public Works Department near Bhavanisagar Dam in Erode district and grant house pattas to 497 families. Officials have said that they are going to submit a report in this regard to the court.
