Tamil Nadu's first Neo Tidal Park was opened in February 2024 in Thiruchitrambalam village, Vanur taluka, Villupuram district. Three companies have set up here. About 200 jobs have been created.
After Villupuram, the Tamil Nadu government opened similar parks in Thanjavur, Salem and Thoothukudi. Five companies are operating in the Salem IT Park. 700 jobs have been created here. Two companies have set up in Thoothukudi. 620 jobs have been created so far. Four companies are operating in Thanjavur, 800 jobs have been provided.
Currently, Tidal Parks are operational in Chennai (Tharamani & Avadi) and Coimbatore. Tidal Neo Parks have been established in Villupuram, Thanjavur, Thoothukudi and Salem. These parks are paving the way for technological development in various parts of the state. New Tidal Parks are under construction in Madurai and Trichy. A Tidal Park is planned to be set up in Hosur.
Further Tidal Neo Mini IT Parks are being set up in Vellore, Sivaganga (Karaikudi) and Tiruvannamalai. Plans are underway to set up Tidal Neo Parks in Karur, Namakkal, Nagapattinam, Chengalpattu, Erode, Nilgiris, Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts.
As part of this, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today inaugurated the Tidal Neo Park in Tiruppur, the knitwear city of India. The park is set up in an area of 1.77 acres in Rakhiyapalayam village of Avinashi taluka. Its total building area is 65,379 sq ft. The park has the potential to generate employment for 650 people. The investment for this project is Rs. 39.44 crore.
By 2030, at least one Tidal or Tidal Neo IT Park can be expected to be operational in every district of Tamil Nadu. When all these are completed, the IT infrastructure in many major cities of Tamil Nadu will be further strengthened. There is no doubt that this expansion will create employment opportunities across the state.
Soon, Tamil Nadu can be expected to become the only state in India with a Tidal/Neo IT Park in every district. This is a testament to the unique development of the state.
The first Tidal Park in Tamil Nadu transformed the IT landscape of the state. A similar transformation is now taking place in smaller towns with Tidal Neo Park. It is noteworthy that they are providing jobs to people in their hometowns. These initiatives of the Tamil Nadu government indicate that the government is continuously giving importance to the development of the IT sector and is creating a big change.
With the successful implementation of the visionary Tidal Neo project by the government led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, a revolution is quietly taking place in the IT sector in Tamil Nadu. It is no exaggeration to say that this is not only supporting the development of small towns but also of rural areas!
