Special grievance redressal meeting for diffables at Salem

Salem Collector Dr. Ira. Brindadevi presided over a special grievance redressal camp for diffables in Salem District Collectorate on Friday.
Special arrangements are being made to receive petitions from the differently abled persons on the ground floor of the District Collectorate on the day of the People's Grievance Redressal Day meeting on Monday every week so that there is no difficulty for the differently abled persons.
During the past 4 years, 80,697 persons with disabilities have been issued identity cards in the district through the Department of Disabled Persons Welfare. Similarly, monthly maintenance allowance of Rs.2000/- is being given to 14,506 persons. Also, an additional monthly stipend of Rs.1,000/ is being provided to disabled persons who are unable to maintain themselves.
Similarly for 1043 persons were given sewing machines worth 70.80 lakhs. Also, 1665 differently abled persons were given petrol scooters at a cost of Rs.16.54 crores. 
A total of Rs 153.58 crores worth benefits have been provided to diffables.
