Special teachers for differently-abled students came wearing black badges and submitted a petition at the collectorate. They said 21 types of differently-abled persons are studying in the government schools across Tamil Nadu. For the past 18 years, they have special tutors, physiotherapists, and school preparation centers. Around 2,800 are working as teachers, physiotherapists and assistants for them in the state.
They are engaged in providing all kinds of benefits, education and training for differently abled students. In this project, 47 special teachers, 13 physiotherapists, 28 preparatory schools were provided education to 3,552 differently-abled students in Erode district.
Currently, 15 percent to 30 percent wage hike has been given to the teachers who are working in integrated school education like us. However, we have not been given salary increment as we have been working in the same project till now. Therefore, we want salary hike, they said.
