Former students of Stanes Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, who graduated in 1995, held a joyous reunion today, July 26, at the school auditorium. The celebration, aptly named "Muthu Vizha" or Pearl Jubilee, marked 30 years since their final year (12th grade) at the institution. Alumni traveled from various parts of India and abroad to attend the special event.
The gathering began with a minute of silent homage to classmates who are no longer with them. School Management , former teachers who taught the 1995 batch, and current faculty members were present. Several former teachers shared nostalgic anecdotes and fond memories of their students, expressing their delight. Similarly, some alumni emotionally recounted their old school days, expressing gratitude and happiness. A highlight was everyone enthusiastically singing the school anthem together.
As a gesture of respect and appreciation, the alumni presented mementos to their former teachers. In conjunction with the Pearl Jubilee, the former students Kathiravan, Kumar, Karthik, Sridhar and Mohanasundaram also made a charitable contribution: they donated 25 headphones to students of Kanuvai Government High School in Coimbatore district to aid in their computer studies.
The reunion was filled with palpable excitement as former classmates reconnected after many years. Faces lit up as they exchanged updates on their current locations, professions, and details about their spouses and children. Many took the opportunity to revisit their old classrooms, reminiscing about the past and even expressing a heartwarming wish to relive their student days.
This emotional and uplifting reunion left everyone energized and eager for future gatherings. The event was successfully organized by former students Initha, Uma Maheswari, Jayanthi, Priya, Gayathri, Anand Rose John, Krishna, Colin Christopher, Kathiravan, Winston and David Appadurai.
