Stanes Anglo Indian school organizes sports meet

Stanes Anglo Indian higher secondary school organized the annual sports meet at its school premises on Friday.
Dr K Jayakumar from Rohan polyclinic attended the event as the chief guest. The event began with the prayer and reading from the Bible by a class XII student Nirmal Joshwin. Guard of honour was performed by the NCC cadres and the school brass band. March Past was performed by players from four houses – the Lordly Lions, the Playful Panthers, the Terrific Tigers and the Wily Wolves.
School principal S Selene Vinodhini welcomed the gathering. School correspondent Philip RJ Fowler, treasurer James J Gnanadoss, CAO VM John, principal of Stanes school CBSE Eileen Jethro, principal of Stanes school ICSE/ISC Zennette Jeyaprakash, vice-principals V Divakaran and Priya Sheen, assistant headmaster S Meenakshisundaram and others attended the event.
The Lighting of the Torch kindled the Spirit of Sportsmanship among the athletes. The chief guest lit the torch that was carried in a relay by the school captain, Joel Anderson and the school head girl, T Aashidha, followed by the house captains. Following the sports competitions, prizes were distributed to the winners.
The individual championship among the girls were bagged by SK Megha, a class XI student belonging to Lions in A-division, Shreya Selvadorai, class IX student of Panthers in B-division, V Prathuksha, class VIII student of Panthers in C-division and MS Tamizhini, class VI student of Tigers in D-division. Similarly, the individual championship among the boys were bagged by Joel Anderson, class XII student belonging to Lions in A-division, BN Sri Aswath, class X student of Panthers in B-division, RS Prakateesh, class VII student of Panthers in C-division and S Aakash, class VI student of Lions in D-division.
The coveted cock house trophy was won by the playful panthers. They lifted the trophy for the third consecutive year. Vote of thanks was delivered by Clayton D’Cruz, assistant physical director of Stanes AIHSS.
