Star Academy District Sports Training Center inaugurated at Erode

District Collector Mr. Rajagopal Sunkara, inaugurated the “SDAT Star Academy District Sports Training Center” and distributed sets of sports uniforms to the students at a function held at the VOC Park, Erode on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority. In order to make Tamil Nadu a leading state in sports, create avenues for high-quality training in various sports and enable players to participate and win at the national and international levels, the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurated the “SDAT - Star Academy District Sports Training Center” for various sports in all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu through video conferencing at a government function held in Chennai on 05.05.2025.
A total of 40 students, 20 male and 20 female, aged between 12 and 21 years, have been selected to undergo training in Kabaddi at this training center. Following this, the District Collector presented sets of sports uniforms to the above students. The District Sports and Youth Welfare Officer, Mr. Satish Kumar, District Physical Education Inspector and sports instructors along with relevant departmental officers were present on the occasion.
