State level chess tournament held

First Erode Ram-Brain Battle  State level chess tournament was held at the Hindu Kalvi Nilayam School, Erode, on Sunday. Perundurai MLA S Jayakumar and Hindu Global School Founder Arunkumar inaugurated the event in the presence of tournament director and Erode chess circle secretary  Dr S Ramesh.

It was sponsored by Brain Battle SK Chess Foundation, Dr Ram Sports Foundation, and Erode district chess circle. Over 600 students of over 20 districts took part in 6 categories of competition. Over Rs 1 lakh worth prizes were given to winners and 4 top players of Erode district were selected for special training.
